Charitable EventsEvery year Special Occasions East sponsors 3-4 charitable events. Sponsorship is typically done in the form of providing chair covers, specialty linens and napkins for the event.
Our committee has met for the 2012 submissions and selected 3 charities to sponsor. With so many worthy entries, the decisions were tough to make. The following are the charities and event dates we are sponsoring for 2012:
Adopt-a-Pet – They are hosting their annual Wags & Whiskers in the Woods gala to benefit Fenton, Michigan’s no-kill animal shelter. The gala is taking place on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Copneconic Conference Center in Fenton, Michigan.
Food Bank of Eastern Michigan – The Women, Wine, Fashion and Finance Fundraiser event will be held Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Captains Club of Woodfield in Grand Blanc, Michigan. All proceeds benefit the Backpack Program which fills backpacks with food and school supplies for local underprivileged children.
Flint Institute of Arts – They are hosting the Art on Tap, fifth annual gala event coming in the fall of 2012.
If you have an event that you would like us to consider being part of, please send an email to specoccsns@aol.com with the following information:
1. The organization must have a 501 (c)(3) status. As a part of the application procedure, the organization must include a copy of the tax-exempt letter from the IRS under section 501(c)(3) 2. Applications for sponsorship with all support material must be received no later than December 1st, 2012. 3. Include desired amount of sponsorship.
4. Include the event name and location. 5. Include how many years this event has previously been held. 6. Include previous attendance and estimated attendance for this event. 7. Include a contact name and number should additional questions arise while reviewing submissions.
Please note that submissions without all the required information will not be considered.
All 2013 submissions must be made by December 1st, 2012. All submissions will be reviewed and selected events will be announced on December 16th, 2012. It is our goal to help as many organizations as possible, if you were not selected for the current year please give us the opportunity to consider your organization again.
